Associate Professor, Department of Information Science · CU Boulder · he/him

A computational social scientist with eighteen years studying how people collaborate on Wikipedia, Reddit, and Twitter. That research has always depended on open data, a commitment that has been systematically eroded as platforms enclosed the information commons. He has taught "Information Expositions" for eight years, serves as Vice Chair of one of the nation's first cannabis licensing boards, and writes a data driven column "Charting Boulder" for the Boulder Reporting Lab. CUPIDS Lab is the synthesis of that research, teaching, and civic work.

The inaugural cohort is forming.

Undergraduate and master's students from across CMDI and beyond will make up the first CUPIDS teams. Want in?
