
Hong Tien Vu is an Associate Professor and Director of the Center for Environmental Journalism at the Department of Journalism, College of Communication, Media, Design and Information, University of Colorado Boulder. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Linguistics from Vietnam National University in Hanoi, a master’s degree in Journalism and Mass communications from The University of Kansas, awarded through a Fulbright Scholarship, and a doctoral degree in Journalism from The University of Texas at Austin. In 2023, he served as a visiting fellow at Yale Program on Climate Change Communication, Yale School of The Environment, Yale University. Before academia, he worked for 15 years working in journalism and public relations. As a journalist, I reported for several news organizations including the Associated Press in Hanoi. Additionally, I worked as a public relations professional for both non-profit organizations and for-profit businesses.
